The Shoe Pouch was designed by Grantwood Technology, LLC to allow runners and walkers to use the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit® or Nike+ SportBand with any type of shoe. When designing the Shoe Pouch, our primary goal was to ensure a snug fit, extensively testing it with reinforced, nylon lace loops, and a Velcro® closure over the insertion slit. These designs maximize the durability of the Shoe Pouch while, most importantly, maintaining the accuracy of the Nike+® system.

The Shoe Pouch will stand up to the elements, and guaranteed not to tear or rip.

The Shoe Pouch matches the correct longitudinal alignment of the sensor, completely covers the sensor and attaches through the laces for excellent security. With a small, low profile, secure, neoprene design, the Shoe Pouch is the answer to using the Nike+iPod® with any style of shoe.

I like the Nike ID concept where I can track my runs on my ipod. First I was looking for new Nike+ shoes that could fit my Nike+ sender but since I had bought new non-nike running shoes a few months ago it seemed like waste of money. I found this pouch which fits the sender perfectly and is easy to attach to your shoe laces.

The product itself is very simple but it does what it's designed for. Saved me a lot of money!

I purchased this from Amazon.com a couple months ago when I didn't like my Nikeplus shoes that I bought for my sensor. I bought the pouch in gray and it looks great with my grayish tennis shoes. It doesn't stand out or anything like I was worried about. It shipped quick and works wonderful!

This is what you want and what you need! I've seen some pouches that look like your walking around with a rambo knife strapped to your foot. This one actually is perfect!!! Forget Nike+ running shoes, wear whatever you want. I'm an Asics man but I love my Nike+ Ipod so I use this pouch for holding the sensor securely in the laces of my Asics. Works like a charm!!! I bought 7 pouches all together now so I have a pouch for each pair of running shoes. Now I don't have to take the pouch off when I want to change shoes and use my Nike+ Ipod. Just pull the velcro flap and grab your sensor and put it in another pair of shoes.... it's that simple! Order as many pouches as you have running shoes and you won't be disappointed. - Recommended by Boobie Myles himself!!

A friend of mine had one of these and I thought it was pretty nifty, so when he told me it was only 30 bucks (from 2 of the most overpriced brands on the planet, no less) I had to get one. I don't know how it works, but so far (after 7 runs) I have found it to be remarkably accurate. I have compared its results with Gmaps pedometer and with a measured mile on the road and it has been right on the money. It is easy to get started, requiring virtually no setup, and simple to use. I like being able to download my runs to keep track of my training, and if you know how far you want to run but don't feel like planning a route before you go, you can just keep track of your distance on the ipod and decide when to head back. It doesn't give you as much feedback as a GPS, but at a tenth the price it exceeds my expectations.

I have kudos for the Nike+ customer support, too. The first time I used the NIke+ipod, my Nano had not been synced in a long time and it had the wrong time and date, which were reflected on the run when I uploaded it. Unfortunately you can't edit your own runs on the website (which seems kind of stupid), but I emailed customer service and they fixed the problem for me in minutes.

Don't worry about getting the special Nike shoes, either. I'm using it with the Marware Sportsuit Sensor Case and have had no problem with the sensor being sensed.

The product description for this item should state explicitly that this tool is for RUNNING ONLY. Throughout the description, it talks about running a lot, but what it fails to tell you is that if you do any other sort of cardiovascular exercise, it will not work. I guess it needs the impact of your shoes on pavement in order to collect data. I purchased this because I wanted to track my workouts on the elliptical trainer and other machines at the gym, and when I used it during a very intense, sweat-producing, heart-pounding workout, it kindly informed me that I had gone 0.1 miles and hadn't burned any calories. Humph! I tried it a few other times thinking the first time was a fluke, but it produced the same results. I think it's misleading advertising for the manufacturer not to say that this product only works if you actually run and is completely useless otherwise.

If I could give this product more than 5 stars, I would. I run outside a lot, but its awesome being able to keep tabs on the actual distance and performance of my workouts. You can sync your workouts (when you plug in your iPod to iTunes, you can set it to automatically transfer the data to Nike.com) so you can track all of your workouts and your progress. I was into running and training for runs this summer, but this completely changes my workouts! I love it!

If only I knew about this product sooner...

All I can say is "wow". This product would be worth it at twice the price. I've owned this little gem for about three weeks and it has been the best running motivator I have ever had. It's ability to track your runs on NikePlus and the open-API means that you will find a world of applications others have written that interact with it. One of my favorites is the Twitter app that posts by runs automatically to Twitter so the whole world knows about it!

I will say that if you don't have the Nike+ shoes that this product may be dissapointing -- I've heard mixed reviews from others I know who have used it in non-Nike shoes and the accuracy just isn't there. However in my Nike Shox it works great and it is incredibly accurate.

The only drawback to the product is that the battery is non-replaceable. I hope in a future release this is corrected because its such a waste (of money and resources) to have to get a new one about once every 12 months (if you use it religiously). Whatever you do, do NOT wear it when you are not working out or you will run the battery down.

If you are serious about running, or even walking, this is must have gear. It's going to be a great motivator and one of those things you will want to use to track your progress as you prepare for the next marathon or for the next few pounds lost.

I have used other brands before, and this is my least favorite. If you keep it loose, there are not a lot of problems, but the material will cause chaffing on your arm and side because it is rough. The velcro does stay put, which is nice, even when I am really sweating. It was cheap though, so I guess I paid for the quality I received.

This armband is great! I really did my research when I was picking out an armband. The Nike and Apple armbands did not get very good reviews, so I did a search on amazon and was pleased with the reviews on this armband. And I loved the price too!! Even cheaper than Nike and Apple armbands. I was not disappointed! I have been using my armband for a couple weeks now and it is sooooo comfortable!! I was worried that it would not fit as I am a smaller woman, but it fit great, and there is plenty of room for those who have larger arms. I could go on forever, but this armband is a must have!! So lightweight, comfortable, and affordable!

This is a great little holder for your IPOD sensor. Now you don't have to use Nike shoes. I love my wide foot New Balance running shoes and this little holder works great. It holds the sensor and then wraps around a couple of laces for a secure fit.

Of course you could just stick the sensor on top of your foot, a sock over it and run that way but now you can use the sensor and not worry about it shifting. It is also nice to have a holder for the sensor when not in use. I always worry about miss placing it after a run.

This little gadget works great with my iTouch, it synced up right away, and the software on my 2nd gen iTouch is a fun little toy. I really enjoy what you get when you are use the Nike+ system.

After each workout you can sync your devise and have it uploaded to the Nike+ website where it is tracked and recorded for you. You can also map out runs using google maps, and check out other routes that people have created and posted in your area. There are also challenges that you can participate in to keep you motivated. There is a ton more that goes along with this product that just buying a little sense for your shoe. If you are on the fence I say get it. I was and I am glad I bought it.

Great Idea...poor product. I went through three units total...all had different problems...all related to connecting. The connection was unreliable enough that I couldn't rely on the data even when it was "connected". I tried it on two i-pod "touches" and two other I-pods to make sure the problem was with the unit itself.

I ended up just returning the last unit to Amazon for a refund. Very disappointing product

Item work just as promised, only problem is that you can't leave it in the shoe and wear the shoe or you will eventually run down the battery which can't be replaced. Once the battery is dead the item becomes useless. Good fit for my 3G but after much use while running, I noticed that the carrier started to rub the edges off my iPod. I tried using a hard case around the iPod but the double cover over the controls made manipulation very difficult.

Guys, if you have big biceps, this is not the armband for you unless you want to wear it on your forearm. I don't have particularly big arms and it barely fits. In a field of grossly unimpressive options, this is probably one of the better ones, but using the touch-wheel to scroll is pretty difficult. Also, sweat goes right through the neoprene. I understand the material is chosen for comfort, but it's hard to believe that the manufacturers can't come up with something better. Still, for the money, it's a good bet.

I've had this for over a year now and I love it! The online features you have access to are also great, such as joining challenges with other people. "Worst product I ever owned" -- those are strong words for an armband, but try as I might I can't think of one positive experience with this thing. I used it for about 3 days before boxing it up and sending it right back to Amazon for a refund.

First, the 4th Generation Nano does not line up with the controls -- and even if they did you can forget about things like volume adjustment with this thing. I spent over an hour trying to get the controls aligned and it just wasn't happening. When I finally got it somewhere near aligned I found out that because of the covering the volume control is non-operational with this armband.

Second, I intended to use this for running and working out. Now most people who work out regularly tend to have pretty big biceps and such. Well you can just forget about wearing this with any sense of confort if you have any bit of muscle in your forearms. It was obviously designed for someone who never lifted anything heavier than 5lbs.

Finally, it just plained looked ugly. If you like styling from the 1970s then by all means wear this. The colors don't even match the picture they show online.

I ended up returning it and going with Tuneband, Grantwood Technology's Armband, Silicone Skin, and Screen Protector for iPod Nano, Choose Skin for 3rd or 4th Generation, Compatible with Nike+iPod which was a far, far better choice -- I urge you to check that one out instead of this epic failure.

My thoughts:
-As some reviewers have mentioned, this armband does not line up with the 4G models, it was designed for 1G and 2G models which have smaller screens and a lower scroll wheel. I think Nike and/or Amazon could do a bit better job advertising that, as it may be confusing for some. -This band accomodates the Nike+ adaptor (it is made by Nike ;-) ), which not all do.
-The stretchy material is very comfortable, nothing cuts into your arm and it fits comfortably well. Some people with larger arms may find it too small, though. It also does a good job of wicking water away, some more "waterproof" models I've seen do a better job of keeping water in than out.
-I enjoyed the improvement of having the visible screen over the last model Nike made. Beats having to cut out the music just to listen to time/distance updates.
-The scroll wheel is a bit harder to use, it requires a different amount of pressure than you would normally use without the material between.
-Cord management can be an issue. I wrap the excess around part of the velcro strap to keep it contained, which requires quite a bit of one-handed dexterity.

Overall, this band works very well for my use, it's comfortable for longer runs and allows for enough usage while on the go.

It works for it's purpose. It securely holds my IPOD+nike device while I'm running. I can still use all the buttons on my Ipod to include turning the voluming up and down as well as changing songs when needed. It fits my arm securely as well which is a relief being some other models are made for skinny arms. One minor downfall is the fact that I have no convenient way to adjust my long cord from my headphone. I used to be able to wrap the excess cord around the armband itself with my old holder, but on this one it doesn't seem feasible. The headphone plug is located on the backside of the armband closer to the arm so this does help out a bit. The other inconvenience is that everytime I want to upload my runs, I have to pull the ipod out of the armband to hook it up to my laptop. It's a very snug fit, so it takes some effort to pull out. Also, I'm always at risk of losing the nike + adaptor since I have to pull it from the ipod before uploading my workouts. I've resorted to keeping the adaptor in the sleeve until I'm ready to plug it back in to my ipod. There is another armband that has an opening in the bottom of the sleeve that allows you to upload workouts without removing the ipod from the sleeve.

Overall, I like the armband...it fits my arm...and does what I need it to do. The other issues like I said are inconveniences and not necessarily deal breakers. I did buy the armband on sale which is also a plus

This product is good, it doesn't fall from you arm. But the problem that I had with it, is that I couldn;t change the volumen when I was running, and also the wheel click in the armband doesn't match with the one on the ipod 4G. Bad product for runners who want to record every second of their training and know their pace. To stop my training I had to take the ipod nano out of the armband and then press MENU, otherwise I would touch the wrong thing. I end up cutting the wheel click from the armband.

It works! The only things I can complain about is that the loop of the arm strap frequently slips out of the loop, so that I have to reloop it. Also, my nano 2G has a tendency to slip out of the casing a tiny bit, and I have to push it back in. Otherwise, it's totally fine. Completely usable regardless.

I just received this product today, and I used it on a jog this afternoon. The included screen protector is great; the case fits snugly. All ports are accessible so you don't have to take the ipod out.

The only obstacle I encountered was sound: you have to push the earphone plug in all the way until it meets the ipod. Some times it might get caught on the rubber, which happened to me at first when I couldn't figure out why the sound quality was so bad.

Very happy with the armband. My only complaint is when I am running the cord for the head phones gets caught between the armband and my arm pulling on the head phones. So you have to get a little creative where you place the cord to avoid this problem.

Positive feature is the holder doubles as a protective cover when not using for running and the strap is removable so you can wash it after the workout. The hold button is easy to locate and there is no need to ever take the I-pod out of the holder. The port to plug the i-pod into the computer is visible and not hidden like the original Apple armband I had previously.

I mainly needed an armband while biking and this one works well for me. The case fits snugly on the ipod and has a comfortable fit on the arms.I do not know how long it would last if used extensively every day, but for an occasional user like me, it's pretty good.

Swayed by the overwhelmingly positive reviews on here, I bought this armband despite the few reviews that noted it might be too large for anyone with thin arms. Surely, I thought, since this was a product designed for people who RUN, its armband couldn't be THAT large.

Now, I'll be the first to admit: I have skinny, wimpy arms that will look like sticks no matter what I do. But arms that are, you know, pretty typical for the class of people I had assumed Belkin designed this armband for. But this doesn't come close to fitting my arm--the Velcro would need to extend for about three more inches to make this tight enough to stay on. The case itself is fine, but not worth the purchase if you can't use the armband as well.

After this sat in my desk drawer for a couple months, I gave it to my mother so she could use it at the gym. And you know what? Last time I went home I saw the ipod in its case, sans armband. Too big for her, too!

the product is great in every way, except the armband is so long, i can't wrap it around my arm and still find velcro to connect it to. i will have to sew the band smaller . . . right now, i just wrap it around my arm and tuck it in (not too comfortable).
