I read enough reviews about the Garmin Portable Friction Mount to know the general consesus of owners highly approved of it. So I gladly ordered from Amazon.com to replace my windshield mount. It is everything it promised to be, and exceeded my expectations. I fully expected some slippage across the dashboard around tight corners. I even went so far as to hang onto my Garmin 855 on aggressive turns. But then I got courageous enough to just let the Friction Mount do it's job (hold my GPS in place without slipping/tipping)... and it did! So to my surprise I didn't have a single problem or worry anymore. And the dashboard mount is far better than the windshield mount.

I withheld one star simply because I think the unit is slightly overpriced. It is still worth every penny if it helps prevent GPS theft, but for what is essentially a non-slip sandbag with a plastic mount on top... I would like to have paid a little less. No complaints about overall quality whatsoever.

I bought this mount for my old Garmin Street Pilot, and it was wonderful, far superior to the original vacuum thingy that hung on the windshield. After only a couple of trips, the touch screen on my GPS went crazy and Garmin said there was nothing to do about it --- so I purchased a Nuvi 265WT. It is listed as a device that this works with, but there was no way whatever I could fit it onto the ball mount. The ball is too large. Since this is listed for that device, I don't know what to do to replace it. The way the Nuvi hangs on my windshield is very distracting, as the cord is much closer to me than it was with the Street Pilot. I have a curved dash, so I can't just use anything that sits on a normal dash. Too bad it doesn't fit all the advertised devices, as it is great when it fits.
If you're thinking of buying one, I'd suggest taking your GPS to the store and making sure it fits rather than ordering online.

This is a great buy overall; from my perspective. I have few criticisms with the Garmin, though, is the software they provide to analyze your workout data. The software has very limited capability and frequently makes errors in associating the type of workout. At least once a week it combines a bike workout with a run workout, even though the two workouts were on separate days and I was very careful to reset the watch. Combining the two makes it a varied workout and puts all the data into a separate category. One suggestion to Garmin is to make a version that can be worn in the water. Since I dabble in like to exercise I'd love to gather readings in the water, too. I'm very, very pleased with the Garmin 305. So much so, that after 3 months of use, I bought one for my wife. The biggest selling points for me are the relatively small size, and the great reception.

I've been running with my Garmin for several weeks now and I love it. It's not perfect, but it certainly gets the job done. Let's start with the attribute keeping it from 5 stars...satalitte lock-on still takes a little longer than I'd like in my area. I run in the city and I have to find a spot away from buildings (even 5 story ones) for it to find satellites. It usually takes about 3 or 4 minutes for it to get a lock, which seems like an eternity when you're ready to start your workout. But once it finds some satellites, it rarely loses the signal.

Other than that, I love it. Yes, it's a large watch, but it doesn't bother me while running and that's the only time when I wear it. There are just so many great ways to track your run on the watch. I toggle several of the screens while running...usually between HR, average pace, and a time/distance screen. I've also been using the interval function and the feature that lets you race against the computer. In the end, this watch makes me train harder, and keeps track of my progress, which is exactly what I needed it to do. If you just want to know your pace or how far you rum, you'll probably get bored with this easily. But if you are using it as a training tool, I highly recommend it.

It is improved over earlier versions. I demo-ed my friend's same model, but older version. It does take about 30 seconds to find a sattelite, so I take mine off and put it on the ground and do a few streaches while waiting and then I'm ready to run! here is a tip- you can share your run data on facebook like this: when you are on Garmin Connect website, you will see a share button under your run map, then right click on it. You will see "accelerators". Click on that, then choose facebook and it will prompt you to log onto facebook and then your run will post. Not super-easy right now, but do-able.
I've run streets and trails and so far, no dropped signal.

I bought this watch based on serveral triathlon friends' recommandation! My major concern was the waterproof when I am doing the swim. My friend assured that the watch can handle the swimming part of the tri event so I ended up getting the watch. Following are my finding of this watch after two weeks of use.

Likes:

* The watch tracks the route/distance very accurate(Swim, Bike, Run, walking, ski, and other sports).
* The workout can download to P.C and upload online via Garmin Website (Share your workout with friend).
* The graphics for the workout displays your heartrate, cadence, and speed(Use on P.C after downloaded).
* Customization of the watch is easy and fast(Show speed, average speed, distance, time, lap time etc).
* The GPS route tracking allow easy to navigate back home in case you are lost.
* The waterproof (Only submergable in water no more than 3 feet of water for 30 minutes).
* The instance overall track speed (Virtual compititor) keep me motivated.
* Elevation compensation function(on/off) for hill training run/bike to ensure more accurate distance.

Do not Likes

* Heart rate reading failed/not acurate during firt half of my swim (90bpm then 130bpm).
* Slow GPS signal acquisition.
* Bulky
* Did not show Bike Cadence on the watch during bike training (Only shown in P.C afterward)

Overall Rating

I would give 4 1/2 stars overall rating for this watch Garmin 305 and it is much cheaper than Garmin 705. The Garmin 705 seems to tracking the watt output unless you are cyclist but for twice the price tag-no thanks. Others warmed about this watch for short battery life and I found out that 7 hrs is good enough. I am trying not to charge the watch as many time as I needed to because it could shorten the life of the lithium ion battery just like any other batteries. The idea is charge once every two workouts since my typical workout is about 2-3 hrs.

I paid about $220 for Garmin 305 with Heart Rate monitor and Cadence Sensor. You can add a footpod if you are a runer. I hope my overall review helps. Happy training!

I use it to hook my keyboard piano to my laptop. I'm sure I might use it with other stuff too. It works. It doesn't look like it's going to break any time soon. It's not terribly cheap for a cable. You can pick up a comparable cable from monoprice for about $1.50, but hey, if you're looking for that free super saver shipping like I was and you're just a few dollars away why not pick this up? Spare cables are always useful.

I'm certain this is an excellent piece of hardware but I never had the opportunity to find out because the software would not install on my Windows XP Media Center computer. The error messages referred to missing dll's which were not on the installation disc. There is no live support and I could not find this issue on the FAQ's. So I am returning this to Amazon.

This is my first Web Cam. I bought one for myself and one for my parents that live out of town.The setup was relatively easy, I'm using it with Skype. I had some issues setting it up initially using the enclosed software disc, so I followed other user's advice and downloaded the software directly from Logitech and that made all the difference. I'm using all the auto settings for lighting and focus which appear to work quite well. I got a great price thru Amazon and would highly recommend this camera.

This is the first time that I have purcased a Webcam to keep in touch with family. The product arrived quicker than anticipated...it had mentioned that it would take several months but arrived within less than two weeks. The customer service that Amazon provided was wonderful. They sent various emails to inform me on the status of the purchase. The webcam was easy to set-up and begin using (all u do is connect to a USB port and run the installation CD), the picture quality is exceptional the majority of the time! I have a DSL modem and the picture at time blurs and freezes, thus if you have a slower internet connection, I would believe, it would occur more often. I did however give 4 stars to low-light performance because my experience has been that you need to be an area with plenty of light - especially at night. Overall, this product is worth purchasing but I reccomend that you compare and shop. A relative bought the same webcam at a significantly lower price elsewhere.

I bought the WTR54GL a year ago from Amazon.
At that time I loaded the Linux Tomato firmware version 1.21, this allow me to have better security options, see graphics and data for my Internet connection speed and usage and many other capabilities only available on devices priced 10 times and up.
I still use it today, I actually got a second one for my cousin. All the people that I have recommended this device too, and bought it, are happy with it.

Of course, it would be great if Linksys will come up with a similar device, still Linux compatible, for Wireless "N". In the meantime that happens, I will keep using this one.
I updated the firmware yesterday to Linux Tomato 1.28, the update was smooth with no issues. The most inmediate difference is that the web interface on 1.28 has been improved.
I will keep this review updated regarding reliability and features of Tomato 1.28 (if you want to try it, go to [...] ).

This is the best router I've ever had, until its sudden death within the warranty. I've had various routers for the past 10 years, none of them works flawlessly especially for the wireless. This Cisco-Linksys didn't need restart very often like others, usually once every a couple of months. The signal was strong and speed was notably faster than my Belkin. But it just suddenly died, although all the lights are on. It wouldn't connect to internet. I know it because when I put the old Belkin back on, it works. I thought I've found the stable router I can rely on for the rest of my life, until just now... What a shame, it's even within the warranty!

This is my first router - before this I had only one desktop PC hardwired to my broadband through a cable modem. I needed the wireless router since I have joined the 1990's and gotten a laptop also.

I decided I wanted a dual band, wireless-N, gigabit router, and after many, many reviews and creating spreadsheets to compare the various routers, I settled on the Cisco-Linksys E3000 High-Performance Wireless-N Router. I have been extremely pleased. I ordered it on Amazon on 5/25/10 ($149.99, free shipping!), it was shipped on 6/1/10, and I received it a few days later.

PROS:

1) Very easy set up. I used the "Setup Software & Documentation" CD that came with it to do the setup. Very simple setup and fine for our needs.
2) I have one desktop PC hardwired to the router, and one (wireless) laptop. When using the laptop, we get 4 of 4 bars for signal strength all over our 2200 sq. ft. one story home, up to about 70 feet away through about 4 walls. Response time has also been great.
3) We have had no drop outs or diminished service from the router after about one month of use.

CONS:

1) A negligible con - the router gets pretty warm. It only has feet about 1/16" tall, so I set it (temporarily) on some cork to give it a little more space between the bottom of the router and the desk. I suppose this maybe isn't really a con (the designers must know it gets this warm and have designed it for these temperatures), but some seem concerned with how warm routers get.

OTHER:
The router is about 9" wide and 7" deep, so takes a bit of space on your desk. However, it can be hung sideways on a wall or side of a desk.

All in all, a terrific router, easy installation (for one with NO prior experience), great signal - this router has it all as far as I am concerned.

The product was easy to set up, but you are required to use the Cisco software if you want to set up the "guest" access. This is not configurable in the advanced configuration internal webpage. The USB storage access works, but not under heavy load. I lost connection streaming music through it several times. Casual file backups not a problem. Did like the ability to set up individual shares and user access.

While this router has top ratings from several comparison and ratings web sites they don't delve into the advanced user setups. This router is great for simple direct connections to your ISPs, easy setup, quite secure right off the bat. But if you want to define your own network IP address range you're out of luck if you have another dhcp server on your network, you will be locked into a range this device "suggests". If you want this router to pass through DHCP from another device, you're out of luck. For those two reasons I have to give this router three stars. I would also suggest designing it to stand upright to lessen its footprint. Its range is good or comparable to many other routers in its class, the dual frequency band is also nice if you have a 5ghz NIC (95% of wireless devices don't). the security features are robust, I really like the MAC address filtering that stops any device that you don't specify from accessing this router/ap without exception!
Another gripe is you cannot setup this router while it is connected to your computer locally, in other words if it is not connected to the internet - NO ACCESS to the configuration settings.
I'm going to do some further testing to see how good the security if from the internet coming into my network.

This item is a must have if you have a gps. It protects your gps from being damaged. Yes, this is a very good headset for the money but because of the cheap design it's going to break at some point. You can feel how flimsy it is when you first put it on. Mine broke where the headpiece slides in an out of the earpiece section. I had to duck tape it but it still works.

If you are looking for a good headset for a low price then you found it. It more comfortable than the over-the-ear units because over-the-ear units weigh your ear down with prolong usage. The sound quality is just as good if not better than wireless headsets.

Positives:

+There's no forgetting to charge the battery like wireless headset (I always forget to charge my wireless headset and bluetooth ear pieces).
+Comfortable during long use.

Negatives:
-There's a cord.

It's a must buy for people spending long hours on the phone obviously for ergonomic reasons. If you can get over the cord then this is a good purchase over other companies like Plantronics.

We have been using this headset for several years now and are quite happy with it. We get several years out of it. Just purchased a second one for another phone. It is really useful for talking on the phone while using the computer and typing. I don't like holding a phone to my ear for long phone calls so the comfort of a headset is really appreciated - No more hand going to sleep while holding a phone. These have a good sound quality at a very affordable price. I see headsets like these priced for a lot more money elsewhere.

We called up Linksys after a year and they concluded that our model was defective and the warranty had already expired so there was nothing they could do. Recommended a new wireless n router. Ordered a D-Link DIR-655, lets see if it is any better.

I probably buy about 20 wireless routers a year either for new customer installations or as replacements for older units. Recently Linksys has started selling refurbished units at deeply discounted prices. Of the last 10 I have purchased either through Amazon or my Cisco distributor, 7 have been pretty much DOA. Most just quit working, one even had a broken connector on the WAN port. I just don't understand how they maintain any quality control and how they can even consider sending out refurbished units. It isn't just one model, but it goes through the entire offering of refurbished units. This has happened with all of the WRT line. I haven't purchased any of the E series or Valet, so I can't express any opinion on those.

The new units are not much better. Many features are lacking without flashing the ROM to something like dd-wrt; wireless connectivity can be spotty; and sync with DSL or broadband is inconsistent. I spend a lot of time troubleshooting these units. A few years ago, I had no issues with the older versions like the WRT54G with the external antennas. The newer versions just do not have the reliability I have come to expect.

Customer service has also become an issue. Even previously, support was spotty and the stock answer was to return the unit for repair. Now with the refurb units, you have a 90 day warranty and the cost to replace just isn't worth it. Customer service just doesn't really care about helping their customers. I am a Cisco/Linksys Partner and reseller and I can't even get a response when I contacted them about the quality of their refurbished items. I think much of this has occurred since they were aquired by Cisco.

In general, I think the wireless manufacturers are going through a transition with so many devices that require connectivity (printers, TV's, DVR's, cameras, Apple devices, mobile devices, etc.). This changes the game from the way it was even 3 years ago when the standard WRT54G wireless routers were sufficient for many users and for even most business applications. The ISP's do their best to discourage networking and don't support any type of network product, so that just adds to the mix. Right now, unless you buy the higher end units with more features to help with connectivity and throughput, you will be spending a lot of time troubleshooting your router. The Linksys WRT routers just don't stand up to the test of time. Hopefully the new series fixes a lot of the issues, but by all means AVOID any refurbished Linksys routers.
