We have a Kitchenaid fridge, and the water comes out tasting great. But it takes forever to come out! It's so time consuming to stand there with this filter that I've gone back to drinking terrible poison tap water because I don't have three minutes (literally three whole minutes) to fill a 14-oz glass. It wasn't like this with the filter that came with the fridge.

I purchased this like a week ago and i must say the filter does its job. Water tastes wonderful, very smooth i simply love it.Be aware that the price is better at Walmart. I've seen the pack of 3 filters for only 14.99, so I wont purchase them from Amazon.I am a amazon costumer for years now and i ALWAYS order from Amazon but lately i have been very dissapointed when i found out that i paid more than I should with severall items.

Been using these for a couple of years now, and my only complaint is that sometimes they take 12 -24 hours to filter one gallon of water - and although one might expect that as the filter got dirty it would clog up and slow down, it seems completely arbitrary - one filter will get that slow after 2 days use, while another might take 2 weeks, and yet another will never slow down, and I'll just change it because it's time. So, probably 8 out of 10 times I'm changing the filter before it should be needed because I can't stand to wait so long for it to do it's job. I asked customer service about this when I first started using them, and they said to take it out of the the pitcher and shake it up, but that does nothing.
Still it's a better deal than bottled water, so until I hear of a better one, I guess I'll keep using them...

I purchased a Kenmore refrigerator this year that used an in-line water filter for ice-maker and water spout. I have used Kenmore products for years and very satisfied with them. I'm not written a review on the Kenmore product, but that is what is using this water filter. When my display on my refrigerator said i needed to replace my water filter I called Sears to purchase the replacement. I was in shell shock of the price. They wanted up to $50 for the filter. I decided to read other reviews and find out more about the specific water filter used by this brand. Found out that you do not need to buy from Sears. I ordered the same brand water filter with out the sears name on it and saved about $15. So I paid around $30 from Amazon. Great price! My previous in-line water filters were external from the fridge, so I didn't need any specific style filter, just one that would fit in the water line. With my new fridge things are a little different. The filter is attached to the fridge under the door. Very simple to replace. I'm glad I found a less expensive way of replacing the water filter for my new fridge. Thanks Amazon....

Had ordered this filter since the refregirator (Kenmore Elite) displayed the filter status as "order." The filter arrived apprxoimately 4 biz days with free shipping and the filter status still displayed as "order" and eventually changed to "replace" after a couple of more weeks later. Getting old one out and putting new one in took less than a minute.
The filter instruction recommands about 3 gallons of flush for the first use and that's a bit of downside but maybe common for other brand as well(?)
The water tastes good that's all it counts.

The good: the filter is quite easy to install(although I needed pliers,which the instructions said were not needed). The water quality is really great.
The not-so-good: You must change the cartridge every 2 months. The company claims you simply turn the
old cartridge counterclockwise and install the new replacement cartridge. I tried it,and found that the original
cartridge would not turn at all. Now the unit leaks slightly,and I must buy the entire unit if I am to continue
filtering water with this product.
My bottom line: a new unit every 2 months.

We had an old GE faucet filter whose element had long since worn out and we went to buying bottled water. So, we recently tried to buy refills for it and couldn't, but found out that the Culligan FM-15RA refills would fit it. So, we bought five of them.

Now, we are drinking Culligan-filtered water with dinner and refilling our used bottles again. The water tastes better than the originals! We're sold on Culligan refills from now on.

I have had my Frigidare refrigerator for about 5 years now. The filters used to have a thick housing over the two smaller cylinders and it worked wonderfully. I never experienced any problems with those filters. About 2 years ago they changed the design taking away the outer housing leaving only the two smaller cylinders. Since then I have been through 8 filters in two years. When you cover the outlet hole and blow into the inlet hole, you can see the water spirt out of the side of the cartridge. It doesn't always occur at the top seal; however, many times the leak is in the plastic but you can see where the seam glue has run down to the spot where it's leaking. It appears that the glue they are using is dissolving the weak plastic and causing it to leak. I'm not sure what you can do about it but I just save my receipts and take them back about every 2-4 months when they fail. It's a pain but the manufacturer won't do anything about it. I just won't buy another Frigidare in the future!

These Water filters are super expensive to buy at local stores($45-$50), but at least you can find them on the internet for around $32 with shipping. My refrigerator light will usually stay green for around 7 months, but I'll keep it for at least a year. When you water flow gets weak, you know it's time to change the filter.

I'm a big water drinker and I have been looking for a tap water filter system for some time. However, due to bad tastes or a faulty product i never found the right one. After purchasing this product I can say that it works. Its easy to install, comes with multiple attachments, an auto shut off for the filter, and even has a noticeably better taste. This is a five star product.

First, the water tastes reallygood. Or I should say it doesn't taste, so I rate the product as excellent. Second, to respond to the other reviews which characterize the auto switch button as not working: WHO CARES? For the price and quality, It is NO hardship to push the button back. Mine never worked. But I'm coming from years of Brita whose non-auto-switch-back lever never ceased to annoy me. Third, this filter's lack of "indicator light" when it's time to change filters: I never trusted those things anyway. I solved that problem by doing the following: I fill a 1-gallon bottle of water each time and write a simple slash marking on a piece of paper which I hang on the fridge. Since this is my first time with this product, I'll only have to do this process once to get an idea of how long it takes me to use 200 gallons. Interestingly enough this solved the other complaint of others that the flow was too slow. I just pour from the gallon jug for whatever needs I have and thus control the "flow rate." I also disagree that the flow rate from the filter is slow. But if your impatience quotient is high, it's easier to put the gallon jug under the faucet and do some other tasks while it is filling, than stand around waiting for a glass to fill. But even then, gimme a break. That's NO hardship. Regarding where to buy the filters, duh, how about Amazon and buy a bunch at at time? For the price, quality and the fact that it doesn't come flying off the faucet, this is a 5-star

I bought this to replace mine which had been in the machine for over 6 months. I think it works, but there was only a slight difference in the taste, if any at all. I was hoping that this would improve the taste of my coffee since my old filter was so bad, but didn't do that. Nevertheless, the goal of this product is to filter water, not necessarily improve taste. Since it does that, it still gets a 5-star.

I just had the best shower of my life. The Peerless 2-in-1 system delivered water in a wide spray so that large parts of my body were covered at once. I didn't have to move back and forth to get coverage, and I didn't feel cold air on other parts of my body (as I do when the shower has a dead spot in the center, or a narrow stream). I could switch easily between just having the outside U-shaped part spraying, just having the handheld part spraying, or having both (my preference). It was also easy to choose the different spray options from the handheld portion, from need through massage through heavy stream, to just straight spraying.

I'll try to report back in a few months on longevity, but right now this is better than any rainshower or multi-choice shower head I have tried. I even prefer it to having multiple shower heads spraying me from different angles. Too bad it doesn't come in brass or gold (the rest of my fixtures are gold), but to me the physical experience is more important than matching colors. It is at least a decent-looking shower head, not like the cheap white plastic ones that some manufacturers make.

My experience was the same as reviewer Craigarious' The valve part leaked a lot from the knob area where one would switch to a different type of water spray. I didn't even use it once. I am returning the item to Amazon. I have never returned anything to Amazon, however, per its return instructions, it seems as though it will be a pretty easy process. I have gone back to using my trusty Waterpik which I have been using for years.

Installation is slightly awkward but not a problem; use Teflon thread tape on all connections. The green flow restrictor valve removed easily for use with our low flow well system. I am thinking about ordering a second unit just to have it on hand in the event that it later became unavailable.

I don't know what's going on at the QA department of PUR. I properly mounted the filter in the dispenser but unfiltered tap water leaks from the water reservoir into the main dispenser. Doesn't do what it's supposed to, which leaves me with a one star rating for the item.

1stars - "Water leaks outside the filter" (Schadstoffsöldner)

Have had this product for 6 weeks and it works perfectly. It is easy to fill and place in refrigerator. Just put it in the sink and fill the top portion, put the lid on and slide it onto the refrigerator shelf. The spigot works great, we have had no spillage or problems of any type. The water tastes clean, and being in refrigerator is always cold. Suggest you measure your refrigerator and select space for it before you order it. It just fits between shelves beside the crisper door in our refrigerator, all way from front to back but only about 5 inches wide. The size is adequate, but the smaller sizes would probably be more inconvenient. We fill ours whenever it gets down to the exit pipe, which for us is about every other day. Takes about 2 minutes to fill and replace into refrigerator. p

Having read that PUR does a better job than Britta on purifying water (although I'm not knocking Britta), and being really tired of taking 3 or 4 gallon jugs of water home on the bus every week, I went for broke and bought the PUR DS-1800Z Two stage water dispenser (and the pitcher as well). The first time I drank (Washington DC area) tap water that had been filtered in this PUR Dispenser I knew I had made the right choice -- it tasted WONDERFUL and refreshing. I also felt better about NOT having to buy all those soft plastic water bottles (even though they DO get recycled here)

It's winter and my kitchen is not heated so I have this out on the counter. I will probably have to put it in the fridge come the warmer months -- although I don't like drinking cold water.

I'm on my first filter -- the suggested time to discard it is between one and two months-- I would prefer to err on the side of caution and give each filter no more than 4 or 5 weeks usage.

Can these filters be RECYCLED????

My ONLY gripe is that I emailed the company and asked them some questions at least 10 days ago and I have NOT received a reply yet. Yes, PUR, I REALLy need to know: 1) how to clean this dispenser, 2) What the chances are of mildew buildup in the dispenser if I choose NOT to refrigerate this water in the summer and 3) if water from the bathtub tap can also be used (filtered of course).

I used to buy gallon jugs of water because the water from my faucet tasted horrible. I was very skeptical that after buying this water filter I would be able to then drink my tap water. However, to my surprise, the water is GREAT! I absolutely love it! I have had this product for two years and have not had one problem with it. It gets tons of use. Also, I don't think the filters need to be replaced as often as they say, so you can save some money there. It does start to slow down the filtering the longer you use the same filter. However, if you just fill it up as you get your last cup, you should always have water. We only have a two-person household, so you may need two of these if you have more people. The good news is that it really doesn't take up much room. My fridge is tiny, but this always has a spot. You could also have one in the fridge and one out of the fridge at all times and just switch them out as you go to refill the one in the fridge. Then you would always have sparkling clean, delicious water ready.
