This is perhaps the worst made for tv christmas special ever broadcast. The acting in the claymation of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer merits an Oscar in comparison. How Keneau Reeves and Drew Barrymore put this behind themselves is the real question. Watch it only in 5 minute segments or your brain may explode.

After stumbling over this movie on ABC Family, I absolutely had to have it. After checking Amazon for months, this is the first time I have been able to find it! I am a huge fan of Keanu Reeves, so this movie was an absolute delight (even to someone born in 1987).

The premise of the story begins after Lisa Piper (Drew Barrymore), a child who appears to have already "grown up," is thrown out of a car. Her world quickly becomes Toyland which is a combination of "The Wizard of Oz," and a "Mother Goose" world. Mary Contrary (Jill Schoelen) and Jack Nimble (Keanu Reeves) are in love with each other; however, the antagonist of the story, Barnaby Barnacle (Richard Mulligan), is forcing Mary to wed him. Naturally, Mary and Jack are unwilling to succumb to living without each other and as a result, Lisa becomes involved. Soon enough, a battle over Toyland begins with the evil Barnaby Barnacle leading the way. Ultimately, Lisa and her new friends attempt to enlist the help of the Toymaster (Pat Morita) who can only help if Lisa believes in toys. Thus, the story brings on a reminiscent moment of childhood that so many crave. Even as the battle for Toyland develops, one begins to wonder if Lisa will ever make it back home to her family and friends.

While this movie is perfect for any child to watch during Christmas, adults can appreciate the effortlessly created storyline that engulfs everyone. I most definitely recommend this to Keanu Reeves, or Drew Barrymore, fans! I saw this movie at an early age and to see it available is stupendous! The magnificent child-like creations in this story are endearing and promise to bring about holiday spirit. This movie is definitely one to reminisce over for years to come and is easily a classic among so many holiday movies!

I loved this film as a child, treasuring the "taped from the TV" version well into my twenties. When I finally purchased the video, I was disappointed to realize that the VHS is edited, eliminating some transitional dialogue and two songs ("jail break" and the one where Jack and Mary are singing in jail). It is still a charming story that will be passed along for generations to come, but I will be sure to hold on to the "tv version" that has every aspect of the film. It would be terrific if ORION released a DVD version of this film with all of the uncut scenes in it!

This vendor stated by email that they shipped the product by first class mail on the 16th of December. They did not. They actually did not ship it until January 2, 2009. This is a perfect example of a vendor who did not have a product marketing an unavailable product online, taking people's money under a agreement that it would be shipped immediately, lying about the ship date and ignoring requests for information. I would not buy anything from this vendor. I believe what they did was in violation of Amazon.com's vendor agreement.

*****WARNING!****** There maybe spoilers in this review for those who haven't seen the movie yet!*******

Beauty And The Beast happens to be my all time favorite Disney animated movie. I saw it in the theater at least 4 times when it was first released in 1991 and I must have watched it a dozen or so times since then. There are several reasons why Beauty And The Beast is my favorite Disney movie. For one, Belle is a heroine that many young women today can definitely relate to. Her love of reading, the fact that a man being handsome alone doesn't impress her (Gaston) and her curiousity about things makes her personality very realistic and endearing.

Another reason why Beauty And The Beast is my favorite is the music. I've never enjoyed the music in a Disney movie as much as I have this one. The clever and sometimes touching lyrics draw you in and make one caught up in the story. Songs such as "Belle", "Gaston", "Something There" "Be Our Guest" and of course the title track add so much to the overall story and give the viewer a deeper understanding of the characters.

Yet another reason is the animation. True, there are many Disney movies where the animation is dazzling, however, I'm just so drawn to (no pun intended) the animation in this movie. The scene that impresses me the most is the one where Belle and The Beast dance while Mrs. Potts sings the title song. The combination of tradiditional and computer animation has the end result being such a stunning and beautiful scene. Probably from an artistic point of view (not to mention an emotional point of view), my favorite scene from the movie.

Finally, lets not forget the story itself. I think the meaning of it is beautiful. It's about looking at the person's inside and finding the true beauty of someone's soul, which is Belle's POV. I think we all forget sometimes about that, and this movie is a lovely reminder of that. Another lesson is how people can change, can learn and grow, which is the Beast's POV. It also demonstrates how love conquers all things, even when you think all hope is lost (the last petal of the rose falling after Belle tells the Beast that she loves him). That is a profound message.

I ordered Snow White in plenty of time to get the movie for my grandaughter for Christmas. I didn't receive it in over a week so I emailed the company to ask about it. I received an email from them (Seemybooks) promptly stating that Amazon had given them the wrong zip code and that they had just put it in the mail to me with the right zip code. I waited until Christmas Eve mail to see if the movie would come. When it wasn't in the mail I emailed them back to tell them I hadn't received the movie. Another prompt email came back stating that my AMEX payment had been cancelled and that the movie wouldn't be coming. I was very disappointed. They didn't even apologize.

The movie was billed as in excellent condition, but it gets stuck at the same point every time and is almost impossible to continue on. We always miss part of the movie when we do finally get it to play again and it takes a lot of time. I definitely wouldn't buy like this again.

When i received the Snow White DVD in the mail, my daughter wanted to watch it right away. Unfortunately, when we tried to play it in the living room, all we got was a lot of noise from the machine and "Disk Error" on the screen. Needless to say I was not very happy. We tried it in the DVD player in my bedroom and it does work in there although the entire time it plays you can hear the disk inside the machine. Since I dont want to have to let my daughter in my room every time she want to watch Snow White, I will probably be buying another copy and hoping for the best.

I finally found exercise I can do! I have a bad knee and am not able to do a lot of walking. I have trouble losing weight since I have a hard time doing any exercise. But, I am able to do this. Just not any knee bends. Richard makes it fun with the great oldies songs and I really like the people in it. They are REAL people, not the Hollywood actresses and actors who look like skinny models. They are real people like me and are obviosly having a good time. This video is great for people just starting out or, like me, who have physical limitations.

This tape is very easy... He does reps of 2, 4, or 8. Very easy to follow. He doesn't give much instruction, but after you do it a few times you can practically do it with your eyes closed. If I feel like I'm not getting enough from it, i do things a little faster, and at times do the tape twice. And after that I take my son for a walk and do some sit ups. Just waiting for the next video to come in the mail. So far I have lost 12 pounds and it has only been 2 weeks. I highly recommend this tape for someone who is just starting to work out or someone who doesn't like to work out!!!

I had previously had this movie and lost it....I really enjoyed the plot but still can't see what good that it added to the movie to have wilford brimley telling this as a story....the story tells itself.....i think that if this could have really happened in this day and age, that it doesn't need someone narrarating it...it just seemed to detract from the plot itself, otherwise i would recommend it for anyone who enjoys a western yarn with a little twist

Last Of The Dog Men ranks right up there with Dreamkeeper for me. This is a beautiful film to look at.With a great story and musical score. Like a great book,it grabs you from the beginning and carries you through till the end. The acting by all,is superb,as well.

How it treats the issue of this last surviving tribe is especially respectful and satisfying.

Once viewed,the scenery will never be forgotten. I don't believe anyone could be disappointed in this film.

My original 1987 tape wore out, and even though I probably have the routine memorized, I am purchasing this product again for the entertainment value that comes from watching Greg in action. I'm glad I took the advice of the many great reviews on Amazon and bought this video (used.) It's a great, effective workout with substance, and easy to stick with. You often don't find this in more recent workout DVD's. I'd say it's one of the best workout tapes I own.

It works every muscle in your thighs and butt, plus some ab work. Some of the moves are excruciatingly hard, but it's working when you feel the burn. The workout is safe, easy on your back and joints, and doesn't require complicated dance moves (lucky for me, I'm so uncoordinated!)

I know it's really cheesy, made in 1987 with it's 80's music, headbands, legwarmers, the guy with Jheri curl in his hair, full makeup and mall hair on the girls, but that's what I love about it. Between that and hearing, "Reach for the stars!" and Greg Smithey's other cheesy ecouragements, you can LAUGH your butt off while blasting your glutes. Otherwise, just turn down the sound and listen to your IPod.

I'm going to have to have this converted to a DVD.

This is the original workout that will give you results, all others are followers. I remember when this was sold on vinyl or album, text book and VHS. I remember going to exercise class when our instructor would plug in the record player and play the album format. This is the best workout to date. I got results back when it was introduced in 1982 and now that I finally found a copy (unfortunately it is not sold on DVD) and started using it again I have achieved the same results. I would recommend this tape to anyone who does not like working out on machines all day or evening at the gym. If you do the advance workout at least 3 to 4 times a week along with low impact aerobic exercise you can achieve the results of a nice lean sculpted body along with good eating habits.

I did this workout when it first appeared in the 80s and got the best abs I'd ever had. And this was right after having a baby! So glad I found it again because no other tape has ever been able to bring about the same results. Her weight-lifting video is also good.

I bought way back in 1982 and thought it was the best then.. had to find another copy as my original was so worn it jumped in places... good prices at Amazon and this has to be the best exercise tape for anyone - low impact and you actually can do the basic within two weeks I was overweight and along with this tape and diet lost 78lb in 4 months and toned up

In my quest for a thinner me, I have followed all the roads to that elusive size 10. During all those year, the one exercise video tape that really worked is the Orignial Jane Fonda tape.

It is not fancy - but believe me it works. At this moment, I was stunned that I found another copy. I wore out the two I previously owned and, even with the age of cyberspace, have yet to find another one.

On January 7, 2004, I awoke to say - enough is enough - no more weighing
211 pounds. Today, June 10,2007, I awoke to make a decision about buying a particular dress and the only size the store had was a 6. Presently, I
wear a size 10 and with the help of Weight Watchers and my own determination weight 141 - or 70 lbs less.

The road was steep and long - but if you want it enough - you can do it!
Trust me, if the original cheesecake baby did it, anyone can and that I know that I once again have this workout tape - dress ahead.

Please believe me - this tape is better than good - it is a lifesaver.

I came to Amazon a few weeks ago in order to buy the DVD version of Muppets Family Christmas for my grandsons. Its been a family fave of ours for 20 years now. Imagine my surprise when I saw the price of it! That alone was enough to deter me and then I read the reviews and saw that several of the best parts of this movie had been edited out.

Whats the point in spending almost $200 when it isnt even the original movie?

Amazon: A word of advice here. Dont bother trying to sell this movie at such an exorbitant price and then let people know that key parts have been edited due to something as stupid and trivial as "production rights".

I still have my original VHS tape and will continue to watch that with my grandsons until the powers that be grow up and stop penalizing the viewing public for something we have absolutely no control over.

i have this video but on vhs without any commercials and was hoping to find the whole thing intack so i can have it on dvd. i am soo glad that i read the review from Fritogirl.. those edits make the show almost unwatchable in my opinion... tho being able to see Elmo before he was so big is also a funny thing..in this version Elmo is just one of the other monsters, but he is there none the less. just singing along....with Harry Monster and Grover.. is also before Zoey.. the Fraggles are included which makes it a must see for any Fraggle Rock-er...hands you a Christmas pebble.. Merry Christmas

This is one of the best, if not the best videos that the late, great Jim Henson produced prior to his untimely death. I resell a lot of the children's videos that I purchase on line, at private sales and from my own distributors, and this one literally flys off my auction site as soon as I list one. This is an out of print video, so its not very easy to find copies of same.Of course, as with most of Henson's videos, violence is not present, the majority of his videos are all feel good ones and they are absolutely great for the young children.

Like everyone else, I've been searching for this show on DVD for YEARS! It was a favorite of mine when I was little. We had it on VHS, but sometime between me moving out and my brother, it got lost. As much as I loved this, I wasn't going to spend 200 bucks for it. However, I found a website that tracks down old, hard to find DVDs and sells them for an appropriate price. Lo and behold, they had a copy for $18 plus $4 shipping!! I bought it and just got it in the mail today and I've already watched it. It's a two disk set. The first disc is the remastered, yet chopped up version and the second disc was the original, televised broadcast! The quality wasn't the best in the world....you can tell it was recorded off of a beta or VHS, but it's still completely watchable if you don't mind the occasional glitches (hey, after 20+ years, my VHS was in worse shape than this). So there's hope out there! Here's the link....hopefully, they'll have more for all those out there still looking for a copy....
