I finally got around to watching this, and boy have I been missing out. If you enjoyed the famous H.K. trio (Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Bio) from Wheels on Meals and Project A, then you will undoubtedly love this film. Dragons Forever has more of a Wheels on Meals feel to it then Project A for sure, especially with Benny Urquidez returning for a dream matchup against Chan once again.

Dragons is a difficult film to aquire, and is pricey on dvd. In addition, I have not seen any English dubbed version availbale either (not that that is a bad thing) but some people, like myself, don't do well with subtitles. The option I chose was to record it off of Spike TV. To my surprise - subtitles. Who'd ever thought. It actually wasn't that bad, I really got into this film. The trio is simply amazing, and though they don't have too many scenes where all 3 are on the screen at once, you can feel a chemistry anyways as a viewer (especially if you have seen Meals on Wheels). I would say there are not an overabundance of action scenes, but in between the story still captured my attention well. Its not everyday you get to see some fun love stories unfold in martial arts films, and I have to admit, though a bit silly and maybe cheesy, I enjoyed Chan and Hung's never-ending scenes of winning over their loves.

The action again is limited, but the scenes themselves are not. Dragons has some of the best martial arts choreogrpahy I have ever seen. Everything is so fluid and acrobatic, well timed, and just eye-poping. Chan's fight against Urquidez is a huge treat, though not as long as their fight in Wheels on Meals, it is still a solid 4 minutes of intense excitemnet. Benny gets barely any screen time before his fight, but he just looks evil in this one (in a cool way). And if that wasn't enough, Yuen Bio fights Billy Chow (bad boy in Fist of Legend) too. Billy Chow gets some more screen time, but I think he only has one line in the whole film. This is one of his earlier film appearances too.

Dragons is easily one of the best Chan movies created, and perhaps one of the greatest H.K. martial arts cast every assembled. If you were like me and haven't seen this yet, you are missing out. It's a shame its hard to find and expensive, but it just might be worth it.

This is a film that Dragon Dynasty should consider re-releasing.

Wow, what an awesome movie. I have seen this like 4 times now and it just gets better every time. I am ALWAYS seeing something new. It is not like jackie's old school golden harvest films but has much more of a kinetic type of energy that just sucks you into the tv and you can't look away. So they don't go through a fight scene with like no cuts for 2 straight minutes but this movie is HARD HITTING. BEnny the Jet Urquedez vs jackie chan is one of the coolest thing ever put to the kung fu screen. he is caled Jet for a reason people. And if the jet that you are thinking of fought him, it would not work out very well for the little guy. Benny is actually more respected than Chuck Norris in the world Kickboxing Federation. BEnny went 200-0. Seriously, the guy never lost. If you wanna see Benny and Jackie Part one, check out "Wheels On Meals"(Seriously, that is the name of it). Add in a dream matchup like yuen biao vs. BIllY CHOW, and you have one of the best kung fu movies all time. AAnd did I mention that samo is in it. I didn't, ok, here is a few more. Philip Ko. Yuen Wah. Lo Lieh... And if you have ever seen legend of a fighter, this movie has sanaka it in(the japanese guy who kills himself after beardy beats him in a fight). IT HAS FREAKING EVRYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So of course this movie could haev been better, but not really too much by kung fu standards. The fu is easily the best it gets, and for a jackie film, I would rate this as his best new school type of kung fu movie performance. EASILY!!!!!

If you want UNCUT ORIGINAL version, ALWAYS look for ORIGINAL LICENSED Production. NOT US Release. Its a foreign film, it should not be US version to begin with~! HELLO!!!?? Why settle for LESS with US Version where they edit and cut so many excellent scenes especially with Jackie's Fighting Scenes. And US Release ruins the speed and sound as well. I have been collecting Jackie Chan's movies both HK and US Release Version for quite some time now. I found HK Version to be MUCH MORE in enjoyable, and HIGHER in Quality. American Market always like to "Americanize" and "Control". Regional Code Regulation thing is one of the example to CONTROL the Market. Why not let everyone enjoy the same HK Original Release move the same way ENTIRE WORLD enjoys it ?? No one makes Hollywood American movies to "French version" or "Chinese Version" ~! This what Americans are doing~! Well, enjoy the cheap "American version" then~! LOL

1stars - "Original is better" (Tradeand5)

Jackie chan is amazing. Sammo Hung is amazing. Yuen Biao is amazing. Put the three of them in a movie, and it'd be hard to end up with something bad. Well, in this case, you end up with something great.

To begin with, there's the martial arts. These guys are three of the best Asian cinema has to offer. Yuen Biao, though not widely know in America, is considered to be one of the most athletic martial artists around. Of course, Jackie and Sammo are no slouches either, and this movie delivers a lot of colorful action.

But it's also funny. It reminds me of those old screwball comedies of the fifties. It's ridiculous, absurd comedy based on misunderstandings and well-intentioned deceptions. The scene where Jackie's date is interrupted by his two fighting friends is damn funny. And the interaction between these three friends is what makes this film a classic.

For another great collaboration of this terrific trio, check out "Wheels on Meals", another fine film.

This movie is good to have if you are a Bruce Lee fan. I consider it a nice collectible.

According to Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee pitched the idea of their climactic, gladiatorial duel in the Roman Colloseum to him over the telephone. Norris, who was World Karate Champion at the time, responded "So you want to beat the World Champion?", and without missing a beat, Lee replied, "No, I want to kill the World Champion."

THE WAY OF THE DRAGON (the title Bruce gave his film, later titled RETURN OF THE DRAGON to link it to Bruce's signature piece) was Bruce's directorial debut, and features a cheesy story involving Bruce protecting a Chinese resturant from local Italian mafioso's, but the real sotry of the movie comes in the end.

During his climactic face-off in the Colloseum against Chuck Norris, Bruce stubbornly clings to his traditionalist method of Kung fu, and ends up getting his butt kicked. He then realizes that he must embody the essence of water: flow. Constant, ceaseless, unending flow. With this principal in mind, Bruce rises to his feet and adopts a more bouyant approach, and before long, he is victorious in one of the silver screen's most amazing (and brutal) martial arts duels.

Watch THE WAY OF THE DRAGON for this classic match up of two legends; even after thirty five years, the battle is as powerful as ever, and Bruce's philoshophy of flow has never been better represented.

While I very much like this action/comedy, it isn't the best of Bruce's films. The story and comedy are very old hat but his fight scenes(especially with Norris at the Coliseum) are as good as ever put on screen! It shows that along with the footage shot for "Game Of Death" that Lee Would have made a gifted director and writer had he lived.

4stars - "Bruce takes charge of his Films" (John D. Page)

The story isn't that good. The humour is awful. Some of the sets are a joke. But the action? Man, you just can't fault this baby. The twin nunchaku sequence is superb. The fight with Bob Wall is unbelievable. But the true triumph is the Chuck Norris fight. Has to be one of the greatest fight scenes ever filmed. Fantastic. The choreography (entirely Lee's work) is matched only by the final execution. This is a true lesson from a true master on how cinematic fight scenes should be built, performed and filmed. Stunning.

funny thing is , that carter wong always playes the hero in all his movies .Apart from this where he is probably one of the best baddies ever to be ion a kung fu movie . Along with him the other bad guy is the top notch actor lo leigh . Leaving the lung brothers as the heroes. So the top actors are indeed the bad guys in this movie , they are menacing and unbeatable due to mastering tai chi style kung fu . The school who are under threat try to revenge their masters death , but all fail apart from one. Great action[yuen wo ping] and brilliant plot. The movie might drag on at times , but the last fight scene is fullfilling.

5stars - "GREAT MOVIE ..COPP THIS !!!!!!" (PAL)

This is movie is of the "old school" variety, made before the current crop (or [...]) of martial arts films. Old school meaning that the actors are pretty much performing the techniques for real with little or no special effects to make them do "Crouching Tiger-like" flying. Old school also means a lot more gymnastic moves which made these films so likeable in the first place. There's a lot of fine fight choreography on the level of "7 Grandmasters" and "Mystery of Chess Boxing (aka Ninja Checkmate)". The DVD quality itself is bad though when compared to the quality of "7 Grandmasters" but it seems there's no other choice. Maybe some day it'll be remastered but until then, this is still worth the purchase price.

While i won't give it more than a three star rating , it's definitely a kung-fu classic , the stars in this martial arts adventure aren't as skillful as stars like Samo hung ,jackie chan , gordon lui chia hui, joesph kuo, Lo leih , john lui and the shaw brother cast, none the less this was a well executed story along the triditional "i will get revenge for my master you bastard" kung -fu stories.
The action was great and i must say this is the best i have ever seen Carter wong (by now you should realize i am not a fan of his) for the true martial collector this is great piece to add to your collection , however i advise you to buy Fist of the white lotus and the invinsible amour , The kid with the golden arm and The magnificent ruffians, i am a collector these are a must have to your invincibility collection, laterz folks enjoy not getting cut laters.

3stars - "This a kung-fu classic" (Winston Fraser)

This film features some great talent ranging from director Joseph Kuo to action brothers Jack and Mark Long to Carter Wong in one of his more memorable roles. "But still..." there is AN AWFUL LOT OF CHOPPY EDITING during the fight scenes that really mars the film. This type of jump cutting (the pulling out of frames to speed up the action) is very distracting, and one would think completely unneccessary considering the cast involved. It's a shame, as this could have been one of the all-time greats, but the editing flaws simply cannot be ignored. As it is, the characters and story, along with some untampered action, balance things out just enough to still make BORN INVINCIBLE a pretty entertaining martial arts movie. In fact some still do consider it a classic. Maybe, you'll be one of them. Recommended-flaws and all.

I mistook this for another one of those "invincible white monk villain with the single weak spot" movies. It was not the one I was looking for, but it was ok, not outstanding like one of the old Gordon Liu or Venoms stories. I'm sure it was really good in its time. Ok picture quality. 5stars - "Michelle, ma belle" (Erik C. Pihl)

Michelle Yeoh is Yim Wing Chun (Wing Chun), and she has unmatched fighting skills in her village. A well-to-do relative runs a Soya Bean shop, and during a local festival, a woman named Charmy has brought her sick husband to the village for medical aid. Bandits then appear and Wing Chun drives them off after the local male fighters fail miserably, and she also rescues Charmy. Charmy's husband dies and so she tries to sell herself to pay for the cost of the funeral. Wing Chun (with the help of her relative) gives Charmy enough money to bury her husband and in exchange Charmy agrees to become an employee of the Soya Bean shop. Charmy dresses in clothes formally worn by Wing Chun, as Wing Chun used to work for the Soya Bean shop. Sometime later, another skilled warrior, Leung Pok To (Donnie Yen), has come to seek Wing Chun, since they were going to get married. He finds the Soya Bean shop and mistakes Charmy for Wing Chun, because it has been a long time since he has actually seen Wing Chun. In the evening, one of the bandit leaders, Flying Monkey, returns to the village to attack Wing Chun (Charmy), and Leung Pok To saves her, and Charmy is greatful. However, the next day, when Charmy is alone with Leung Pok To attempting to express gratitude, he is feels something is not quite correct. Sometime later, the real Wing Chun goes to meet Flying Monkey outside the village and defeats him easily using a non-traditional method. Flying Monkey's master, Flying Chimpanzee, learns of the defeat, then seeks Wing Chun and challenges her. After a consultation with Wing Chun's master, Wing Chun and Leung Pok To fully reconcile their differences and travel to the bandits' hideout together with the intent to get married after the conflict. After a long battle, Flying Chimpanzee is subdued, and Leung Pok To and Wing Chun get married.

Note-there are several misspellings with the subtitles, and for short periods, the image quality colors fade. Despite these cosmetic flaws, this is a well made "wire fu" movie directed by Yuen Woo Ping in 1994. There is a fighting style called "Wing Chun", but this film has NOTHING to do with that.

5stars - "A great DVD for Michelle Yeoh fans" (R. Hedges)

As a pure Kung Fu movie, if you enjoy the more comedic, wire-fu style, Yuen Woo-Ping (choreographer of the Matrix) delivers. Both Donnie Yen (a trained film fighter who plays Leung Bok-Cho) and Michelle Yeoh (not a trained fighter but a dancer who's consistently given great action on screen, who plays Yim Wing-Chun) personify their legendary characters with charm, grace, and ferocious martial intent.

If you're looking for a Wing Chun movie that showcases the actual Wing Chun style, however, you're better served by Sammo Hung's Prodigal Sons and Warriors Two. This movie uses the characters and style mostly in name only, with a story drawn, but far removed from, any of the traditional versions, and a style far more high flying and stunt based.

Still, I can think of no fan or exponent who wouldn't thrill just a little to see the beautiful landscapes and settings, and see the characters brought to life, and imagine what it might have been like in the days of legend.

The movie is great. The best Chinese film I've seen. It's a lot of fun to watch. The choregrophy is mesmirising. And I love it when Michelle Yeoh teaches her enemies to call her mama. It is a great action-comedy film with a touch of romance.

5stars - "Michelle Yeoh is kick ass" (S. McMurrin)

Yuen Woo Ping does it again! This movie teams up two of the best there is, Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen. Throw in masterful fight choreography and good kung fu humor and you have another great addition to your movie collection. Wing Chun(Yeoh) is both powerful and graceful, not to mention gorgeous! She is a master of kung fu and respected by all, except the bad guys. They never learn. I am always astounded by Yeoh's skill and this movie showcases it beautifully!

Donnie Yen lives up to his reputation as usual. Incredibly fast and always showing his style and flare that nobody seems to match, he is just awesome to watch! He plays Wing Chun's love interest, that is as soon as he figures out which one she is! It is pretty comical how this all comes about. I must say that this movie is one of the funnier kung fu films that I have seen. Being both funny, loaded with great fights, and having a fairly well told story(although nothing too original) you should enjoy this one!

The only flaws in this movie are the lower quality film that was used(not the worst ever though) and the subtitles fly by in most parts of the film. Be ready to speed read! These are the reasons I did not give it five stars. This should not discourage you from seeing this though. With great action from start to finish this is one film not to be missed. Be sure to check it out!

Jackie Chan is one tough guy, but he always looks out for the women and children, and only fights when there is no alternative. Great combination of action, comedy, drama, Jackie's balletic kung fu and acrobatics, and fun.

5stars - "The perfect title" (Charlecote)

Moving from Hong Kong to Melbourne Jackie Chan continues
his dance routines. Choreography seems to be the method in his movies.
He can probably disable somebody with one punch ( if he wanted to).
But action, comedy and gangsters make people pay to see these.
For me this is a boring kind of film. Jackie Chan is a master of bobbing and weaving, but must have scars to prove you can't always get the stunts right.
He does seem like Mr. Nice Guy.

As with many of his films, Jackie Chan relies more on stunts and action than story in Mr. Nice Guy. The movie contains mostly stunts like Rumble in The Bronx & First Strike and not so much in the way of one on one fights such as Who Am I and Legend of Drunken Master.

Jackie Chan plays "Jackie Chan", famous tv chef located in Melbourne, Australia, where the movie pretty much all takes place in. He becomes the "Nice Guy" by helping out a female reporter escape from Gene Carter (Richard Norton) and his gang of goons. She accidentally leaves her videotape of one of Gene's illegal business deals with Jackie, and that's when Jackie becomes entangled in the mess throughout the rest of the movie.

Several highlights in this film include Richard Norton, who plays the bad guy boss, like in many of his movies. There is a funny cameo from Sammo Hung, who also directed Mr. Nice Guy. There are tons and tons of chase/stunt scenes featuring Jackie. The best is one of the last scene at a construction sight. Another good but small one is on the street. A Pepsi truck overturns, looses all the cans of soda, and Jackie and a goon are fighting it out in thousands of exploding cans of soda. The final scene in the movie involves Jackie driving a MASSIVE construction vehicle through Gene's "cheap-looking" mansion. Really cool, though you can kinda tell its a cardboard set. Oh yeah, and his sports car collection gets crushed too. Oh, and the dubbing on the film is rather done well too.

I miss a really good fight scene the most from this movie, but the stunts make up for it. If you enjoy Rumble In The Bronx, First Strike or Supercop, Mr. Nice Guy needs to be added to the collection.

So, why is this tv chef such a tough guy anyway? I enjoyed this movie, but the plot wasn't that interesting, and none of the bad guys seemed to be all that tough, so the fights were just all Jackie. Even with Jackie's hands and legs tied, the big boss presents no challenge to Jackie. Stunts were okay, like Jackie hanging from a doorknob at a construction site. Overall, though, this movie doesn't have anything that would make me say it was anywhere near his best movie.

Love this movie Jackie Chan at his best before the nose job. You see he is the Martial Art Instructor for the movie. And you see he does all the stunt in the movie, and the way they shoot the scenes is classic Hong Kong Cinema, where you actually see all the technics. But the copy is horrible, I saw the original in the theater and I swear it's the same move just copied to DVD, had same 35mm scratch lines in it, I thought they would try to remaster it, but it isn't a Criterian version and I should have known better. And I was ripped off with the price I paid ($65). I see the price has dropped quite a bit now.

this movie's plot is weak and steriotypical, the dubbing is [bad] and Jackie barely smiles, but the kung fu, which is what I bought it for in the first place, is excellent.I study both the snake and the crane styles of shaolin and I must say, aside form all the cartwheels and usuall razzle dazzle of movie kung fu, the coreography, (which Chan was highly involved in) was excellent and mostly true to the real styles of shaolin. If you like alot of action, blood and childish swear words dubbed in to movie then buy this.It's excellent

This is, hands down the best Jackie kung-fu movie ever made! It has some of the best fight scenes ever filmed and the story is actually very good and has somewhat of a twist ending. By far, this is the ULTIMATE JACKIE WUP-[rear]S movie! This film was done before Jackie found a sence of humor, and he lets loose on all who oppose him, even the chicks(they are awesome kung-fu in their own right). All the action leads up to my favorite fight scene at the end.... DO NOT PASS UP THIS MOVIE!!!!! If you are thinking, don't! Just buy it!

A fantastic revenge fight flick, great cheesy kung fu cinema.

Unfortunately, they lost 95% of the final fight scene. One moment they are fighting, the next they are bloody and tattered, and the death blow is being delivered. Great set-up, huge let down ending.

Worth the 3.98 version.

3stars - "butchered classic..." (S*POP)

Despite the poor reviews, I purchased this movie with an opened mind. This movie had the foot prints of a very promising old school "kickers"!! I was especially impressed by the kung fu moves, which gave me a renewed respect for the monkey style. Despite the impressive training, especially the drunken monkey, I thought the final fight scene fell really short. It almost seemed like the director cut out a hugh chunk of the fight scene, and the movie ended! The expectation was set,,and I fell for it. I'm happy it only cost me $3.98 for this "BUMBO-CLOTH" flick!!

2stars - "Ols "skool" Kung Fu" (M. Beckford)

this movie deserves it's 2 stars, but doesn't come close to getting a 3. The main acrtor in this one is an unknown and get this, he finally learns monkey style with 12 minutes left in the film.

Now without any spectacular kung fu and absolutely nothing new, there are only 2 reasons why I can tell to get this, and they are reallly not good reasons.

1.)-- Yun Sang Baan- huge muscles, this might be the crazy monk from shaolin vs. lama, but I am not 100% sure. But the muscles are the thing that made me think of that guy. But I think his name is william yen, but hey, it could still be the same guy. But yun sang baan can fight really well, he is probably better than chang yi overall in this movie at least.

2.)--Chang Yi, he could have looked A LOT better in here. They cut up his scenes so much and the reversals are some of the worst ever. But this movie is actually kind of unique because chang yi is the guy who is the best fighter, so he wants collection money because he can beat everyone up. So old Mr. muscualr white har doesn't like this and takes on chang yi. THE VILLIAN IS DEFEATED AND GOES TO TRAIN SO HE CAN COME BACK FOR THE FINAL FIGHT. I have truly never seen anything like this. He has to train really hard to get back at the old man who beat him. Even though he initiated the fight, he still wants revenge. He does a lot of training and decides to stay with the snake style, he is just going to do it better this time I guess. There is a very funny moment when he is reminiscing of how he got beat, and it shows this reversal that was sped up about 20 times the speed and had the guy doing the most unnatural rolling motion you have ever seen. I don't doubt the filmmakers know at least in part what they are doing, but they could have at least viewed it once before releasing this to the movie theatres.

So overall a movie that you have seen a hundred thousand times, has a small and shortly enjoyable twist, but the fighting sucks too much for thenm to rehash the most common storyline in kung fu history.

I first saw this movie years ago. I recently got the DVD of it off of here and their are parts missing from the dvd, little skips. I then got another DVD of it assuming that i got a bad copy, both where the same. So first get the VHS for the whole movie, I rencently got a new VHS of this and it has the entire movie.
Now this movie is a really good classic kung fu flick. The training of the young fighter in monkey kung fu and the training of the master of snake style kung fu are very intresting to watch. This film dosent have a deep story but enough to make this movie a great buy for anyone who likes classic kung fu.

Don't let the silly title fool you - this movie has got some great fight coreography! Li Yi Min (whose amazing fighting skills were not fully shown in the poor 'Magnificent Wanderers') and Lung Fei pair up in this action packed film. The ending where Li and Lung team up to fight against the 'crab style'is borderline cheesy because of the crab sound effects, and a couple of jumps in the film print are reasons why I am not giving the film 5 stars. But overall, you will not be disappointed with the numerous fast-paced fight scenes throughout this entertaining film.

4stars - "Can't Lose With This One!"

Superstar Lee Yi Min plays the part of a constable, and kung fu champion blackmaild into a deadly mission by an evil lord. His mission, deliver a box containing 8 Jade Horses to one of his affiliates. After encountering many different bad guys all trying to steal the precious statues he discovers that there is more to his mission then what he thinks. Amazing choreography, and some off the wall acrobatics make this a classic. Find out if Lee Yi Min can outsmart the Crab fist Master himself and stay alive?

Filmed in Spain in 1984, this movie has it all- Jackie with his two 'brothers', jaw-dropping stunts and action, great comedy. This is a must-have for even the slightest Chan fan, seeing the three brothers in action together doing what they do best is unbeatable. This film has a great plot, and was filmed around the time that Chan was getting married and expecting his son, Jaycee. Benny the Jet plays a somewhat large role here, and he and Jackie show off probably the greatest/most entertaining fighting sequence ever filmed. If you only own one Jackie chan movie, this should be it.

5stars - "Great classic kung fu movie!" (P. Yang)

I can't give this five stars, although I really enjoyed it, because it's one of those comedies that's funny but not really very good in terms of script/acting/direction/etc. However, if you want to see Jackie Chan run around acting silly and getting into semi-exciting fights, this is the movie or you.

For better Hong-Kong action/comedy, you'll do better with Chan's more recent (but pre-americanized) films like Drunken Master or any of the SuperCops.

Still, it was a hit at our last Samurai Film Fest, where it followed Seven Samurai - Criterion Collection - 3-Disc Remastered Edition and other Kurosawa-seriousness nicely.

3stars - "A great big pile of wonderful cheese" (Eric D. Knapp)

This is an insanely fun movie starring the 3 brothers- Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao and Jackie Chan. Sammo stars as a private investigator who is hired to look for a woman. Yuen Biao and Jackie Chan work together selling fast food from their van. The woman Sammo is looking for is a pickpocket and is on the run from some goons. She is saved by Jackie and Yuen Biao and ends up living with them. The movie takes place in Spain and the woman finds out that her father was a Count and now that he is dead his evil brother will inherit everything if she can't claim it for herself. The 3 brothers help her out by battling the goons so that she can claim her inheritance. Sammo fights the main villain while Yuen Biao and Jackie fight his 2 top henchmen. Biao's fight with Keith Vitali is good, and the fight between Jackie and Benny Urquidez is amazing. There is some undercranking involved, but these guys are throwing punches and kicks so fast that only a few other movies can match its intensity. The choreography is breathtaking. Benny Urquidez is so fast that one of his kicks blows out a row of candles. There are no special effects or trick photography used to achieve this shot. So Jackie is lucky that he got out of the way of that kick! This fight always gets me pumped up.

So the final fights are outstanding, and the rest of the action scenes are very brief but still highly entertaining with incredible stuntwork, including some great car and motorcycle stunts. If you like this movie, then you have to see Dragons Forever. Benny Urquidez and Jackie Chan have an even better fight than the one in this movie.

I have the Hong Kong Legends version and it great picture quality and awesome interviews with Benny Urquidez, Keith Vitali, Sammo and Yuen Biao. The commentary from Bey Logan is very interesting and one of the things he talks about is why this movie was strangely titled Wheels on Meals.

4stars - "Benny the Jet Urquidez vs. Jackie Chan part 1" (morgoth)

Being a huge fan of Jackie Chan and his films, I noticed how many positive comments people have had on this film. But noticing it was made around 1983 in Hong Kong, I decided to not bother, since 80's HK films can be compared in quailty to 60's USA films. Although the quailty of the movie is just that, with low picture quailty, poor sound and effects, cheesy music and that awful dubbing (if you get the English dubbed version, which this version is not), I still found a way to be lured in quickly, forgeting that all of that even existed.

Wheels on Meals is a terrific movie containing great action, stunts, chases, comedy, and a decent plot combining the famous trio of Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Biao Yuen. The three have also appeared together in Project A and Dragons Forever. Also in Wheels on Meals, is Benny "The Jet" Urquidez (Dragons Forever, Bloodmatch, Kick Fighter) who displays his once again entertainingly quick fighting skills unlike no other, as seen in his other few movies. Keith Vitali (American Kickboxer, Superfights, No Retreat No Surrender 3) also appears in Wheels on Meals, displaying some great skills as well.

Although the action throughout the movie is light until the end, I found the movie enjoyable for the most part, continuing to be entertaining and never getting boring. The best part of the movie is the finale, which has a triple showdown - Jackie Chan vs Benny Urquidez, Biao Yuen vs Keith Vitali, and Sammo Hung vs the boss/swordsman (can't recall actor's name). The Jackie vs Benny fight scene is truly spectacular, owning up to all the great things I have heard about it. Definetly deserves to be in the hall of fame of all-time best Jackie Chan fight scenes. And Benny is just awesome too.

I am really glad I bought this movie, wish I had done so sooner. Its really cool to see an older, cheaper-made movie can still have everything that truly makes a movie worth watching - especially a Jackie Chan movie. If you are a fan, this is a must. The 4 stars is only because of the poorer quailty, guess I couldn't resist.

The Game of Death is the biggest disappointment you can watch as a Bruce Lee fan. It is not even a Bruce Lee film. It is a film with a terrible story, a stunt double, Bruce Lee's face pasted on the shoulders of the stunt double (yes it is actually like a photo on someone's shoulders), sequences taken from other Bruce Lee films you have seen before and the two fight scenes filmed with Bruce Lee before he died.

So most people want to watch it for the 11 minutes of Bruce Lee where he appears right at the end. There is the nunchaku fight scene and the Kareem Abdul Jabbar fight.

The bottom line is that there is a much better way to do this than watching this train wreck. The film is absolutely chronically bad and the production should have been shelved and the fight sequences released in a documentary. That is the way this should have been done... in fact it has been done! It's called "Bruce Lee - A Warrior's Journey" (2000). If you have any sense you would get that if you want to watch this for the Bruce Lee fight sequence. It contains all of this sequence and more (outtakes).

The fight scene is a classic though, although it is debatable if it's his best. It is Lee with more experience and his styles are even wider than before. He also wears a legendary yellow jumpsuit with black stripes and cute matching shoes. The outfit appears in the Tekkan games with the character Marshal Law.

This terrible film should never have been remastered for release in the Martial Arts section of Contender Entertainment Group's `Hong Kong Legends'. It should have been omitted from the Bruce Lee box set and replaced with A Warrior's Journey.

Anyway, A Warrior's Journey is where it is at. Bruce Lee would have personally smashed this production to splinters.

As a long time Bruce Lee fan I found "Game of Death" to be a disgrace. Bruce Lee died tragically during the production of the film and for some reason the film company decided to finish it and release it with out him. A very bad decision, because the finished product is one of the most broken and comically bad kung Fu films ever made. It's not that I'm angry that they decided to finish the film with out Bruce, but if you're going to finish a film make sure that your star is in at least half of the footage. Instead Bruce Lee is in about 10% and the rest is his body double with a Bruce Lee head pasted on his shoulder. He'll be fighting and the head will remain motionless and expresstionless, it's like a gag video from youtube. On the other hand, the 10% that Bruce is in(Not his evil pasted head clone)is classic. No one can forget his fight with Kareem and it's truly one of the most memorable fights in Kung Fu film history. The rest of the film is a painful bore. I find out fast that this wasn't really a Bruce Lee film at all. Just a poorly fabricated movie built around 15 minutes of Lee footage that only comes in at the end.I felt really cheated after watching it. For Bruce Lee fanatics only. If you're looking for a good Kung Fu flick or just a good flick in general then "Game of Death" is not for you.
